Press release on takeover of IBA GmbH, Hanover by umwelttechnik & ingenieure GmbH (u&i).

As of 01.07.2022, Hannover-based umweltttechnik & ingenieure (u&i) GmbH has taken over 100% of the shares of Ingenieurbüro für Abfallwirtschaft und Energietechnik (IBA) GmbH, also from Hannover.

After many years of successful cooperation in a wide range of projects, the two companies are now united under one roof. With the takeover of IBA GmbH, the synergies exploited in the past can be used to a greater extent. The takeover enables both companies to work even more intensively and comprehensively in the business fields of mechanical and biological treatment of material flows. By integrating the relevant specialist departments of u&i GmbH, IBA GmbH will be able to offer more specialist planning in the field of construction and electrical planning from its own company, in addition to object planning. In turn, u&i GmbH complements and expands its spectrum in studies and concepts in the field of recycling management, especially for waste treatment and waste recycling plants.

The long-time shareholder and managing director of IBA GmbH, Dr. Ketel Ketelsen, will retire from the management of the company with the sale of the company, but will continue to be available to the team in an advisory capacity.

The new management of IBA GmbH will be carried out by Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Traue, a long-time employee of iba GmbH, and Dr. Tammo Rebling of u&i GmbH. The new location of iba GmbH has been moved to Wöhlerstraße 42 in 30163 Hannover, the headquarters of u&i GmbH.
